Meet Hex – a curious, chatty companion with a whole lot of charm.

Hex had a tough start in life due to a heart condition, but after successful surgery, he’s bounced back with quiet confidence. He approaches new situations with a little caution, but it doesn’t take long before he’s poking his head out to see what’s going on.

Once he warms up, Hex is all in. He loves the company of both people and other cats, and gets genuinely excited to make new friends. Expect nose-to-nose greetings, headbutts, and plenty of lap time if you sit still long enough.

With his luminous golden eyes and an expressive face, Hex always looks like he’s got something to say—and he usually does. He’s a talkative guy who’ll share his thoughts throughout the day and even grumble a little in his sleep.

Hex is also a big boy, weighing in at 12 pounds. Despite his size, he moves with surprising grace and loves finding the coziest spot in the house. He’s currently on daily heart medication, but he takes it like a pro and doesn’t let it slow him down.

He’s still getting used to being picked up and held, and he’ll let you know when he’s ready to be put down—but he’s learning. What he really wants is a calm, friendly home where he can keep working on his confidence and be part of the action.

Hex has a gentle spirit and a lovable personality that wins people over without even trying. He’s ready to settle in and be someone’s steady, affectionate sidekick.

 At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.   

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient.
