Rembrandt, known as Remy, is a young Chihuahua and is just a delight. What Remy loves most is attention from people in the form of treats, scritches and play.  With Remy anything is a toy, his favorites include hair scrunchies and socks which he will throw into the air and do battle with!  He will play tug with his people and will chase a tossed toy!  Remy is very food motivated and is working on basic commands such as sit and down, and is kennel trained.  Remy will potty on potty pads and will go outside to potty as well.
Remy is easily intimidated by new surroundings so has not had a lot of leash work, but he has visited several businesses and baseball games and has done very well with being quiet and mannerly and taking in the new environments from the safety of human arms.  Remy has also done very well meeting a variety of new people who have visited his foster’s home.  He will sometimes bark at newcomers but is quick to jump into laps and beg for scritches.
Remy has done well with other dogs in his foster’s home, he takes a while to warm up to calm friendly large dogs, but when you are only 5 lbs. who can blame you for being cautious.  Remy loves dog friends close to his own size and age.

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
