Description:

Richie is named for Richard the Lionhearted, and he lives up to his name. Richie is extremely confident, courageous, and curious. He was the first to venture out of the crate when he, his siblings, and his mother arrived at his foster home. This paved the way for the others in the litter to follow his lead and be brave as well.  Richie plays equally well with his siblings as well as his foster home’s older cats. He has taken one of his foster siblings under his wing. She was once a feral kitten who is being socialized. Richie seeks her out and demonstrates to her how she can be brave and trusting. Richie is an alpha cat, but he does display appropriate submission behaviors when he is around older alphas. He is fearless and not easily deterred. Richie playfully tries to “tackle” his foster home’s big black Labrador. He also loves playing with his much larger and older foster cat brother. They love to run and chase each other. Richie has a gorgeous glossy black coat and a unique tail. His tail kinks and spirals around making it about half the length of a regular cat tail. Richie still enjoys playing, but when it is quiet time, Richie is the first to jump into his person’s lap for cuddles. He gets along well with other cats and with dogs too. Richie has a stocky muscular physique. Richie has always been raised by his mother, so he has exquisite kitty manners and etiquette with outstanding litter box habits. Richie has all his shots, including rabies. He is neutered and microchipped. Richie is highly intelligent and would do well in a household where he could be the leader. He would love to be adopted with any of his siblings as he loves all of them but would do well on his own too. Richie might do best being the only alpha male in the household. Richie is waiting for his forever, loving home. Whoever adopts him will be getting an excellent companion and a very loving pet.

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes up to 7 days.  Keep in mind, the kitten/cat you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals.   Due to COVID-19, we are highly encouraging foster homes and adopters to speak with one another via phone or video chat to limit in-person contact. If meeting in person at a foster home or at our adoption center, everyone is encouraged to wear masks and socially distance.   Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100 % foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email Dogs@laramieanimals.org**
