Doug came to LAWS with his siblings when they were just a couple days old. He was bottle fed and cared for with great love. He is the book end to his brother Veto. Anyone considering adopting Doug might consider adopting Veto as well. Doug is a handsome little guy who is playful and fun. He and his brother Veto love to explore, play, and snuggle when tired out. He does like to snuggle with humans, specifically up on shoulders or under chins. He has a calming, happy purr, and likes to bat his handsome eyelashes adoringly. Doug is quite the character. He and Veto have mastered their favorite toy, the round robot vacuum. They compete for riding time and have even learned to pause or restart it. Doug is charming and sweet too- he’s capable of bringing a smile to everyone in the room. He gets along well with other kittens, cats, and gentle dogs. Doug is adored by his foster family and they hope to see him find the very best forever home!
At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes up to 7 days.
Keep in mind, the kitten/cat you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.
Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals.
Due to COVID-19, we are highly encouraging foster homes and adopters to speak with one another via phone or video chat to limit in-person contact. If meeting in person at a foster home or at our adoption center, everyone is encouraged to wear masks and socially distance.
Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100 % foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.
Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.
***COVID-19 Update: While we typically host bi-weekly Saturday adoption events, in order to follow the CDC's recommendation for COVID-19 protocols, we will be suspending our weekly Saturday adoption events until further notice.
