Sox came to LAWS when she was just hours old.  She struggled to survive, but with great care and love, she has grown into an affectionate and wonderful kitten!  Sox has a sweet and gentle personality, but also loves to play and have fun.  She is excellent at snuggling and is quite vocal.   She is a beautiful cat with stunning golden eyes and unique fur markings.  Even though she gets along well with other kittens, cats, and gentle dogs, Sox would do best as an only cat.
Sox has some special needs that must be taken into consideration before finding the right forever home.  She has chronic diarrhea and gas and is on prescription food as well as prescription probiotics.  Sox has been through thorough testing over the past several months and while no serious issue has been found, she will need to have regular visits with a veterinarian.  Once she reaches one year of age (June 2021) other potential medical interventions can be tried.  For now she has the diagnosis of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), but is doing fairly well with the prescription food and probiotics.
Sox’s potential forever home will need to be able to provide her with the prescription food, medications, and ongoing veterinary care.  She will also need extra litter boxes around the home (especially if large).  Her potential forever family will also need to know how and be willing to integrate her into her new home slowly, especially if other animals are already a part of the family.  The goal is to keep her stress levels to a minimum, thereby helping her tummy stay calm.
Though it may sound like a lot of work, the effort will be greatly rewarded!  Sox has such an endearing and magnetic personality.  She is so full of love, affection, and “sing-songy” chirps that it is nearly impossible to have a bad day when Sox is around.  Despite her occasional room clearing gas, she is easily forgiven and the adorable-ness takes back over.
Sox is loved so very much and will be deeply missed by her foster family.  But they are hopeful she will find the right loving and caring home.  Sox deserves the very best forever family!

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes up to 7 days.  Keep in mind, the kitten/cat you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals.   Due to COVID-19, we are highly encouraging foster homes and adopters to speak with one another via phone or video chat to limit in-person contact. If meeting in person at a foster home or at our adoption center, everyone is encouraged to wear masks and socially distance.   Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100 % foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email Dogs@laramieanimals.org**
