Ali has come a long way since we got him. He’s gone from a shy, fearful, and distrustful kitten to a well-rounded house cat. He still has a long way to go, and needs someone who is going to be patient enough to help him continue to grow in confidence around new people and situations. Because of his playful and curious nature, he needs a home environment with people and animals that are present, and will engage him. Ali wants to be included in every activity, and will insert himself, even if he is not invited. At heart, he’s an adventurer and does not believe in “no cat zones.” He needs a home that will give him access to every nook and cranny, but protect him from free roaming in the outside world. He would love nothing more than to have an enclosed catio, and a tall cat tree to perch on and watch the world go by. As a natural born jungle cat, he is at home amongst houseplants, and loves to chew and lay on them. Ali also has great social skills with other animals. Having a gentle dog, or another friendly cat/kitten (his foster sister, Yasmin, who he loves dearly) could help him adjust to his new environment, and burn excess energy. He loves playing with toys, wrestling with his siblings, and snuggling up with his humans. Ali is very friendly with people he knows and is comfortable with. He will say hello by gently rubbing against his human’s legs, curling his tail around them, and asking them to pet him. He has a robust purr, and is an expert bread maker. While he is not necessarily a lap cat, he loves to sleep at the feet of his foster parents, and will on occasion, have his snuggly moments. Ali is an amazing kitten who deserves a patient, loving family to continue to nurture his curious, playful, and sweet nature. Could you be the loving home he’s been waiting patiently for? (Ali would not be a good candidate for a home with children)

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes up to 7 days.  Keep in mind, the kitten/cat you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals.   Due to COVID-19, we are highly encouraging foster homes and adopters to speak with one another via phone or video chat to limit in-person contact. If meeting in person at a foster home or at our adoption center, everyone is encouraged to wear masks and socially distance.   Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100 % foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email Dogs@laramieanimals.org**
